Reading through
A plan for reading the whole Bible
All sixty-six books, Genesis to Revelation, in a little under four years. One book at a time, in order, without jumping between the testaments.
This week
Genesis 1–7
Week 1 of 207
Why this plan is on Never Forget
Never Forget is for not losing the thread of what comes back. A reading plan is the long version of the same problem: two hundred and seven weeks, and nothing easier than forgetting where you were after three weeks away.
Hence a shared cycle rather than a personal counter: there is no backlog to catch up on, only a current week, the same one for everyone. The app shows it with its text; picking it up again is just opening the page.
How it is built
Each book is read from end to end before the next is begun, at about six chapters a week. Long books are cut into weeks of roughly equal length; short ones are gathered together, so that three weeks are not spent on sixty-odd verses.
The cycle is shared: it does not start on the day you take it up but turns for everyone at once. Two people who begin months apart read the same thing in the same week, and whoever joins late joins where the others are.
The complete plan
All 207 weeks, in order. The current week is marked.

Common questions
- How long does it take to read it all?
- A little under four years, at one reading a week. That is a pace which holds, where a one-year plan asks for three or four chapters every day without ever slipping.
- Can I start partway through?
- Yes, and it is meant to work that way. You join the current week, and you will have read everything by the time the cycle brings you back to where you came in.
- Which translation does it use?
- In the app, the passage is shown with its text, in a freely licensed translation named beneath it. The plan itself gives only references — a book and chapters — so it follows just as well with the Bible you already have.
- Are the deuterocanonical books included?
- No. The plan follows the sixty-six book canon and leaves out Tobit, Judith, Wisdom, Sirach, Baruch and the Maccabees.
