A month’s notice
It enters your day view thirty days before the date. That is the notice that leaves time to order, to write, or to arrange something.
The age works itself out
The day view shows the age the person is about to reach, and the days left. No more mental subtraction from a birth year.
What happens between typing it in and the day itself
A celebration asks nothing of you once it exists. Here is everything you do, and everything the app does afterwards:
- You enter the name and the date. Once, for every year to come.
- Thirty days ahead it appears in your day view, with the age and the days left.
- On the day, a notification arrives in the morning with the person’s name — and the celebration leads your day.
The notification goes out at 8am in your own timezone and carries the name: “Sarah’s birthday”. Past two celebrations on the same day, they arrive as a single message rather than four. These reminders are part of the free plan, and can be switched off from your profile.

The Hebrew date, for those who follow it
When the birth date is complete, the entry gives its place in the Hebrew calendar: the Hebrew day and month, the weekday, and the parashah read that week. Nothing to set up — it is worked out from the date, and it can be ignored without getting in the way if it does not concern you.

Never Forget is not a social network: your celebrations are visible to you, and to the people you open your board to.
Common questions
- Do I get a notification on the day of the birthday?
- Yes, in the morning at 8am in your own timezone, with the person’s name. It is part of the free plan and you can switch it off from your profile. Nothing is sent on the days before, though: the advance notice comes from the day view, from thirty days ahead.
- What if I don’t know the birth year?
- The day and the month are enough. The celebration comes back every year like the others; only the age and the Hebrew-calendar date need a full year.
- Can the people around me see these dates?
- Not by default: a saved celebration stays private. It only shows up for someone else if you open your shared board to them, and sharing celebrations is part of the Pro plan.
- How many celebrations can I save?
- As many as you want, without paying. It is one of the few parts of the app with no quota, along with tasks and the shopping list.
