Routines

A habit is held up by its steps, not by good intentions

Never Forget breaks each routine into steps you tick off.

Routines are part of the Pro plan, at €5 a month.

What a routine does

Steps, in order

Each routine breaks into actions ticked one by one. You always know where you are.

The days that suit you

Every day, weekdays only, or three chosen days. The routine appears only when it is due.

Restarted each day

Steps untick when the day changes. What you did yesterday stays in the history, not in this morning’s list.

The run you are on

A routine kept several days in a row shows the number of days. Skipping a scheduled day sends the count back to zero — that is all that happens.

Write the steps once

A routine takes seconds to create, and the breakdown does all the work. An evening routine, for instance, looks like this:

  1. Tidy the kitchen
  2. Get tomorrow’s things ready
  3. Ten minutes of reading
  4. Phone out of the bedroom

A reminder arrives at 7pm with the day’s steps still to tick — only if any are left.

The week as it actually went

The app keeps what was ticked, day after day. You go back through the week and see the days you kept and the ones you did not. A missed day erases nothing from the history and triggers no extra reminder — it is simply there, and often seeing it is enough.

Not every routine is a daily one

A routine is set to whichever days of the week suit you, or to a date in the month: Saturday’s clean, the accounts on the 1st. It only shows up on those days — and its steps spare you the “what am I forgetting?” of something you do once a month.

Shareable with the people around you

A routine can be opened to someone else through a simple link: a child’s evening routine, a flatmate’s, one you keep together. They tick the steps off without creating an account.

What it costs

Free

The free plan does not include routines. It gives you unlimited tasks with their reminders, the shopping list, celebrations, one themed list, two medications and three documents.

Pro — €5 a month

Routines and their steps, with the evening reminder and the history. And the rest with it: unlimited lists, health tracking, documents. €39 a year.

Common questions

Are routines available for free?
No, they are part of the Pro plan. The free plan stays usable with no time limit for tasks, groceries, celebrations and the rest — so you can try the app before paying anything.
How is this different from a repeating task?
A recurring task is one line that comes back. A routine is a sequence of steps ticked one by one, and the app keeps the detail day after day. For “take the bins out”, use a task; for “my morning routine”, a routine.
What happens if I skip a day?
The day stays marked as not kept in the history, and the current run goes back to zero. Nothing else: no catch-up notification, and you can go back and tick a past day if you did it without noting it.
How many routines can I create?
As many as you like on the Pro plan. They are organised by day, so only the ones due today appear.
